Application
Bentonite served an economical bonding material in the moulding processes, and it is associated with metal casting industry. When it mixed with foundry moulding sands, forms pliable bond with sand particles. Impressions are formed into the face of the Bentonite / Sand mixture. Molten metal is poured into the impressions at high temperature.
It is a binding agent for special moulding sands, synthetic moulding sands, core sands, and anhydrous casting sands for thickening black washes.
